How user can delete their account and remove data from the HamaraTaxi application?
To delete your account and remove all associated data from the application, you have the following options:
1. Drop an Email:
Send an email to hamarataxi@gmail.com with your request to delete your account. Make sure to include your registered email address or phone number in the email for verification purposes. Once your request is processed, all your data will be permanently removed from our system.
2. In-App Option:
If you prefer, you can delete your account directly within the app. Go to the Settings or Account section, select Delete Account, and follow the on-screen instructions. This action will delete your account and remove all your data permanently.
Data Deleted
Upon account deletion, the following types of data are permanently removed:
- Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, and profile details.
- Ride History: All past ride bookings, destinations, and related details.
- Payment Information: Stored payment methods and transaction records (except where legally required to retain for a specified time).
- Preferences: Any app-specific settings or preferences associated with your account.
- User-Generated Content: Reviews, feedback, or other input linked to your account.
Data Retained Temporarily
For legal or regulatory compliance, certain data may be retained for up to 90 days after the account deletion request:
- Billing and Transaction Records: Retained to comply with legal or audit requirements.
- Dispute and Fraud Prevention: Any data required to resolve ongoing disputes, prevent fraud, or meet legal obligations.
